EU executive to propose overhaul of migration and asylum system

The European Commission will propose a revision of the migration and asylum system. At the same time, the International Organization for Migration demands attention to the fundamental right to asylum.

EU agency: Central Med migrant crossings more than doubled in July

The number of illegal sea migration across the Mediterranean has doubled in July compared to the month before. All in all nevertheless, migration figures within the EU have fallen in 2020 due to the corona virus travel restrictions.
