EU sanctions violators of UN Libya arms embargo

The EU has been making a lot of effort to help resolve the Libyan conflict and hence EU foreign ministers have agreed on sanctioning three companies who violated the UN embargo on arms flowing into Libya.

EU agency: Central Med migrant crossings more than doubled in July

The number of illegal sea migration across the Mediterranean has doubled in July compared to the month before. All in all nevertheless, migration figures within the EU have fallen in 2020 due to the corona virus travel restrictions.
The rescue ship "Eleonore" sails on the Mediterranean with around 100 migrants on board. The "Eleonore" took in the migrants on 26.08.2019 off the Libyan coast.

Key EU interior ministers seek to resolve Mediterranean rescue crisis

Interior ministers from several European countries, as well as the European Commission, met in Malta to discuss finding a deal to the distribution of the migrants rescued in the Central Mediterranean.
