The climate on earth is getting warmer. Greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere due to human activity are the main reason for this. This visualization displays which countries of the EU cause most greenhouse gases and where the emissions are coming from.

  • The largest part of the emissions emerges transnationally from the energy sector. Especially the energy industry is responsible for this because of public electricity and heat generation.
  • Agriculture causes more emissions in Europe than the industry.
  • Germany produces most greenhouse gases in the EU, followed by France, Italy and Poland.
